A shift in the way 6th and 8th grade does spelling tests

Hello Parents,

In an effort to help our students make the transition to the new Spelling Test requirements. I am reaching out to you, our parents. We don't want students to wait until the last moment to study the spelling and definitions. Starting spelling study sessions early is the key to students success in their literature courses.

There is no longer a requirement for the students to write the definitions, however, they will need to understand and know the definition of each spelling word. The definitions are now included with the weekly spelling list. It is still required for each word to be written in cursive and written 5 time each. A sentence need to be created for each spelling word, using correct punctuation and capitalization.

I am still requiring each student to write a 2 page story, using at minimum 10 spelling words in order to receive full credit for weekly homework assignments. Of course if the story contains more than 10 word, that would be awesome.

All school assignments must be completes in cursive handwriting. Students will learn to read cursive if they learn to write in cursive.

This is the spelling assignment for 6th grade.

This is the spelling list for 8th grade.

We are available for questions from 8am-7pm. If there are any questions please reach out to us.

Thank you for all you do,

Mr. Bobby and Mrs. Fredrina
