A Slaton's Crazy Idea

A few years ago, my husband and I had this crazy idea of creating a sustainable farm area on our three acres of land. Sustainability to us, meant living off the land for our food choices, and changing the way we looked at food.

For us, living off the land would mean one of two things. First, there would be the possibly of a loss of funds, and second, there would be the the possibility of gaining knowledge about something that we loved. Because we do not believe in failure, we had to live our dreams and shoot for the second possibility.

GAINING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SOMETHING THAT WE LOVED.

Along our sustainable journey, we have had the opportunity to encourage others to work towards their dreams as well..

The green house, which is located on the property, was built by the family, initially, to feed ourselves. However, it has grown to do so much more.

Funds gained through greenhouse tours, help us to run various programs that we are involved in throughout the year, as well as keep our summer program cost at a reasonable rate for families.

For those who know us, we believe that life is meant to be an adventure. Therefore, we do our best to show others, through our daily living, just how easy that can be.

Live, Love, Learn and Laugh every single day; because everyday is truly an ADVENTURE.
